Resumo
Anxiety and depression in the context of chronic pain, are much more than just the old moods, active part of the emotional experience of pain. Through a descriptive study, we can establish meaningful relationships between incidence of chronic pain in institutionalized elderly and the binomial anxiety - depression. Anxiety and depression are present in a large number 01 elderly people with chronic pain, affecting negatively to the genesis and intensity, which opens a field of nursing interven- tion in the non pharmacological activities.
