Abstract

Anesthetic agents used to Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) must produce quick induction, without reducing seizure duration, because the succesfull of treatment depends on seizure duration. There is no agreement about the best induction agent for ECT. Anesthetic techniques have evolved to improve the safety of modern electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). In this article we review the literature from an anesthetic perspective. Specifically the management of induction agents.
