Resumo
A total of 73 permanent and deciduous teeth, healthy and with caries have been studied. Concentrations of Ca and P in all samples have been obtained by X-ray fluorescence; afterwards, the Ca/P ratio was calculated. The results obtained shown a good correlation between permanent and deciduous dentition and between different age groups of permanent teeth. Some differences in Ca content in healthy and carious teeth have been found. Dentin of carious teeth presents more concentration of Ca, probably caused by a reaction against carious aggression.
