Resumo
Endovascular therapy has many applications in craneomaxillofacial surgery. The improvement in resources has allowed the access to peripheral vasculature. We present five clinical cases treated in our Service during the last two years. They are a sample of the main pathology which requiere endovascular therapy. Three of them were oro-facial haemorrhages, two of them were oral carcinomas and the third one was a complex facial fracture. The fourth case was a traumatic carotid-cavernous fistula. The last one was a good example of the pathology which more often need endovascular therapy; we are talking about hypervascular tumours. In this article we have reviewed a list of the most impotant embolization agents and also the main complications of this kind of therapy which are described in the literature.
