Abstract

Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital anomaly of the gastrointestinal tract. Lower gastrointestinal bleeding associated with ectopic gastric mucosa, is one of its manifestations in children and usually it has not demonstrable triggering factors. We present 2 patients with lower gastrointestinal bleeding in which Meckel's diverticulum with ectopic gastric mucosa was detected. Both received ibuprofen treatment started close before bleeding begin. Our opinion ibuprofen was the triggering factor for hemorrhage, because it can cause erosions in the gastric mucosa.
