Abstract

In the face of the new COVID-19, there are many unknowns that are considered regarding the approach to chronic diseases such as asthma and rhinitis. The first one is the challenge of the differential diagnosis of these with the COVID-19, due to the similarity of their clinical expression. The studies on the allergic respiratory condition as a risk factor in the evolution and prognosis of COVID-19 shows contradictory and rather inconsistent results in order to draw conclusions in this regard. The primary objective in the treatment of these patients is to achieve optimum control of the disease in order to avoid asthmatic exacerbation. To do so, it is recommended maintaining the usual maintenance treatment for the asthma and rhinitis, even the inhaled glucocorticosteroids and biological drugs. Treatment of asthmatic exacerbation should also be the usual one. The use of sprays should be avoided due to the high risk of spreading of the virus.
