Abstract
Objective: It is proposed to know the usefulness of establishing a registry of surgical activity in a primary health care unit (PHC). Methodology: A descriptive, prospective study of the surgical activity of a PHC unit is designed. Results: Variables are recorded: sex, age, phototype, size of the lesion, clinical diagnosis and, where appropriate, pathological diagnosis. 214 patients included in the course of a year after signing the informed consent. The average age of participants is 52.34 ± 18.22 years with a 55.92% women. The most common clinical diagnoses have been pendulous fibroma, common wart, and seborrheic keratosis. The most frequent pathological diagnoses have been seborrheic keratosis, melanocytic nevus and vulgar wart. There is a clinical-pathological agreement of 65%. 70% of the intervened injuries have been smaller than one centimeter. 2.5% have malignant results. Conclusions: Establish a register of surgical activity in a PHC unit allows us to obtain information about the pathology of this type addressed in PHC and can serve as a tool to audit clinical practice.
