Resumo

Since visual tests have demonstrated sensitivity to visual defects acquired by neurointoxicación, it is reasonable to suggest its use in early diagnosis procedures of illnesses associated with consumption of alcohol. In order to establish the prevalence and correlation of color vision disorders we performed a cross sectional study in alcoholic subjects. The assessment of color vision was performed using the Lanthony D-15 test. The prevalence of impaired color vision did not show to increase with alcohol consumption, however, only chronic users showed some degree of impaired color vision.
