Abstract
Urinary tract infections (UTI) in childhood are among the most common bacterial diseases. The possibility of renal parenchyma involvement and long-term sequels, together with its potential association with abnormalities of the urinary tract further increases their importance. Until a few years ago recommended monitoring protocols including various imaging tests in all children who suffered a first episode of UTI. Currently, the patterns are changing. We propose, through a review of the most recent literature, a new model approach of the complementary explorations indicated after an ITU in the childhood.
