Abstract

Acute postoperative pain is a well-defined problem on which different healthcare professionals have been working for many years, with the aim of reducing its prevalence. However, despite knowing its origin and the routes of transmission of nociception, we still do not have an adequate solution and the prevalence of postoperative pain has changed little or not at all in recent years.
